Chapter 23 Odysseus Kneels Down and Prays Again

The Huaiachaeans of Shelia Island were a seafaring people. They accumulated a lot of wealth through maritime trade, and thus became proud and conceited.

Odysseus's ship went upstream at the river estuary of Shelia Island and soon arrived at the river bay port outside the city.

After the ship anchored at the port, Odysseus immediately brought the sailors to the shore and ran to the sacred forest dedicated to Athena by the Huaiachaeans at the fastest speed.

Thetis is the goddess of the sea who controls the sea, and the river is controlled by the local river god.

Luo Yin's ship came to the river estuary. Thetis's divine power could not push the ship into the river controlled by the river god. Luo Yin jumped onto the shore at the river estuary and turned to Thetis on the boat and said.

"When I chase Odysseus, Athena will definitely respond to Odysseus's prayers and come to Shelia Island. You should leave here quickly."

After that, Luo Yin chased Odysseus along the river bank.

As a nation good at sailing, the Huaiachaeans have already believed in Poseidon, the sea king, and made Poseidon their patron saint.

Watching Luo Yin's departing back, Thetis said with a helpless bitter smile.

"I am a sea goddess who is not welcomed by the Huaiachaeans. Even if I want to help you, I can't set foot on the land of Shelia Island!"

Athena's Sacred Forest.

Odysseus brought his sailors here, and he felt a little safe in his heart.

When Luo Yin's figure appeared near the Sacred Forest, he saw Luo Yin waving his spear and rushing towards Athena's Sacred Forest, with cold murderous intent in his eyes-

Odysseus' sense of security disappeared immediately, and he left the Sacred Forest with his sailors and fled to the city of the Huaiachaeans.

While fleeing to the city, Odysseus anxiously prayed to his patron goddess Athena.

Athena heard Odysseus's prayer, but it took time for her to descend from Athens in Greece to Shelia Island, and she could not provide help to Odysseus immediately.

Fortunately, Poseidon, the sea king, also heard Odysseus's prayer.

According to the decision made by the meeting of the gods, Poseidon will play the role of Odysseus' enemy and prevent Odysseus from returning to his hometown.

But acting is just acting after all.

So in the original fate, after Odysseus experienced ten years of suffering, it was the people of the Achaeans protected by Poseidon who sent Odysseus back to his hometown and gave him a lot of wealth.

When Odysseus fled to the city of the Achaeans, in order to allow Odysseus to enter the city smoothly, Poseidon sent down a thick fog to cover Odysseus and his sailors, and after Odysseus entered the city, he guided Odysseus to flee to the palace of Alcinous, the king of the Achaeans.

Odysseus and his sailors were protected by the thick fog sent down by Poseidon, and the Achaeans guarding the city could not see them, so they did not stop them from entering the city.

There was no dense fog from the gods on Luo Yin's body. Seeing Luo Yin waving his divine spear and approaching the city, the Huaiakayans guarding the city immediately gathered and aimed their bows and arrows at Luo Yin's body.

"Dangerous outsider! Stop your steps quickly and don't approach our city. We Huaiakayans do not welcome outsiders. If you refuse to leave, we will attack you with weapons."

Luo Yin rushed towards the city of the Huaiakayans without slowing down as if he had not heard these warnings.

The arrogant Huaiakayans immediately shot a rain of arrows at Luo Yin. These arrows immediately fell to the ground after hitting Luo Yin's body and could not cause any harm to Luo Yin's body.

After the javelins and spears thrown by the Huaiakayans were also bounced off by Luo Yin's body, seeing that Luo Yin had an invulnerable body, the Huaiakayans immediately regarded Luo Yin as a god and made way for him.

The palace of the Huaiakayans.

Protected by the thick fog brought down by Poseidon, Odysseus and his sailors entered the palace unimpeded and came to the banquet hall of the palace.

At this time, the royal family and nobles of the Achaeans were feasting in the palace. Seeing Odysseus and his sailors suddenly break into the banquet hall, King Alcinous was in a state of panic and immediately called on the palace guards to eliminate the enemy.

Under the guidance of Poseidon, Odysseus ran to Queen Arete and knelt down, hugging her knees and begging.

"Beautiful and kind queen! I ask you and your husband to help us foreigners, because we are being hunted by the enemy."

The Achaeans are a conceited nation that does not welcome foreigners.

If Odysseus prayed for help from King Alcinous, he would definitely be rejected by King Alcinous.

Queen Arete is not only kind and virtuous, but also the niece of King Alcinous.

Because of her youth and beauty, the king, as her husband, dotes on her very much.

As long as Arete is willing to lend a helping hand to Odysseus, the king will accept this guest.

Queen Arete is kind, but she is not simple and stupid.

She knows that Odysseus and others can come to the banquet hall of the palace unimpeded, and there must be a powerful god helping Odysseus.

Arete did not reject Odysseus's prayer, but looked at her husband Alcinous with an inquiring look.

Alcinous nodded to Arete and said.

"This magical stranger is like an immortal god! If it weren't for the power of the gods, he wouldn't have suddenly appeared in my palace with so many sailors. Stranger, if you are really a god transformed into a human, then you don't need our help, but we should pray for your protection."

"Dear king, I am a mortal like you."

Seeing that the king and his wife did not reject him, Odysseus stood up and said.

"Perhaps you have heard of my name. I am Odysseus, the king of the island of Intac, and one of the princes of the Greek coalition who participated in the Trojan War. After the Trojan War, what happened to me on my way back home? There are many hardships, and my comrade-in-arms, the son of Achilles, wants to kill me. I came to your palace just to avoid the son of Achilles, who is as powerful as a god."

As soon as Odysseus finished speaking, Luo Yin's figure appeared at the door of the banquet hall, looking at Odysseus' back and sneered.

"Odysseus! Are you so stupid that you think humans can protect you? Instead of wasting time praying to humans, you should pray to Athena for protection."

Then, Luo Yin threatened Alcinous and Arete.

"This is between me and Odysseus, if you don't want to become a dead king and queen, stay out of my way."

Luo Yin was alone and dared to threaten the king and queen.

The royal men and noble men in the banquet hall drew their weapons one after another, preparing to teach Luo Yin, an arrogant foreigner.

At this moment, a young warrior ran into the banquet hall and told King Alcinous about Luo Yin's physical invulnerability.

Knowing that Luo Yin's body was truly invulnerable, Alcinous looked at Luo Yin in awe and said.

"Neoptolemus, who is like a god, I have heard about your deeds of destroying the city of Troy alone. You have the power to destroy us Phaeacians, so we will not stop you from killing the city of Troy. Decius, but I hope to resolve the conflict between you and Odysseus as a mediator."
