Chapter 235 Arrival
When Han Li turned around and left quickly, the chaotic sounds behind him clearly reached his ears.
Although some things during this period were not as dramatic as the previous two years, there were still many similar situations happening.
Some people feel as if they have been hollowed out if the event is not held every once in a while.
Some people even do it to show everyone that their ideas are correct. The larger the city, the more similar situations there are.
There are many young people in the school, so it has become the hardest-hit area in this regard.
When Han Li didn't go to the countryside, he and Han Xiaomei stayed at home for more than two months and refused to go to school. This was the reason why.
Because many times you will fully understand what it means to be involuntarily, and in many cases you have to go even if you are at the back of everyone.
The situation of not taking sides is even more unthinkable among students. Anyone who shows such an attitude is an outlier, and the two of them will work together in a tacit understanding to take down this outlier first.
Han Li didn't look back until he heard the voice behind Buqing, but it was just a glance.
I was glad to go to Shanghe Village when I was going to the countryside. Although there were many people in Shanghe Village, the location was relatively remote.
Village Chief Zhao and Captain Liang were not only able to resist the red armbands and protect the villagers' vegetable fields, but they were also able to suppress all the villagers in the village, so the chance of this happening around him was very small. When Han Li turned around I had already sorted myself out when I arrived.
Han Li then looked at Bingcheng Medical University from a distance, which is a medical professional school established in 26 years.
Han Li saw many people wearing ethnic minority costumes. The colors of their costumes were obviously much more beautiful in this world where most people were black, blue, gray and white.
I also visited Zhongshan Road, which was built in 1925. It was originally called Army Street.
On the way, we also visited the Madiel Hotel, which was founded in 1906 by French Jews. It is a solid brick-concrete building.
In 1929, my country's only legendary woman, Mr. Song, known as the "Mother of the Nation", stayed in Room 137 of the Madier Hotel at that time.
However, Madiel was brutally destroyed by the Japanese army in 1934. After the liberation of Bingcheng in 1946, it was gradually restored by the Chinese government and later changed to the Northeast Bureau Reception Office.
It was renamed Bingcheng Government Guest House in 1949, Bingcheng Hotel in 1953, and Bingcheng Revolution Second Guest House in 1966.
The architectural style of the Madier Hotel made it look like a work of art at this time. Unfortunately, its current prefixed name made Han Li give up the idea of going in for a look.
On the way, Han Li saw the ruins of the Nicholas Church, known as the first Orthodox church in the Far East. If someone hadn't said that he would never have imagined that this pile of ruins was once a landmark building in Ice City.
Next we went to the original Zhengyang Street, which is now "Jingyu Street".
The name here was changed to commemorate Yang Jingyu, who died in the Anti-Japanese War. Yang Jingyu was a native of Lijiawan, Queshan, Henan Province.
Party member, revolutionary, military strategist, famous anti-Japanese national hero, one of the founders of the Hubei-Henan-Anhui Soviet Area and its H Army, and one of the main founders and leaders of the Northeast Anti-Japanese Allied Forces.
To commemorate Yang Jingyu’s glorious life of heroic resistance against the Japanese, Mengjiang County where Yang Jingyu died in 1946 was renamed Jingyu County.
In 1949, Mr. Guo, a modern writer from Shawan, Leshan, Sichuan Province, once wrote an inscription for Yang Jingyu himself.
"The head can be severed and the abdomen can be dissected, the fierce anger is hard to eliminate and the will cannot be weakened. For two thousand years, the blue-blooded artemisia annua has been red flags all over the mountains and rivers."
In 1958, Yang Jingyu's head and body were held in a grand public ceremony and buried together in Tonghua Jingyu Cemetery. Many national leaders sent wreaths.
Next, Han Li went to visit the most famous Qiulin Company here, which was a department store founded in 1900 and originally named Qiulin Yangxing.
It was successively run by Tsarist Russian capitalists, the Sun Never Sets HSBC Bank, Japanese businessmen and the Lao Maozi government. It was handed over to my country with compensation in October 1953. Later, it was called Songhuajiang Department Store for a short period of time.
This is a three-story brick-concrete structure building. The entire building is brightly colored. The door and left and right walls are inlaid with off-white granite capitals and flat reliefs. It is a typical "Baroque" art style building. Compared with the surrounding buildings, it seems to be showing off its wealth, giving people an extremely exaggerated and luxurious feeling.
When Han Li walked in, he found that there were not only a lot of people inside, but also a variety of products.
Compared with the Dongfeng Market on Wangfujing Street, which is known as the first store in New China, it is very limited. It is not an exaggeration to describe the products inside as dazzling.
Han Li was a man who had seen the big world, and he returned to normal after being slightly surprised.
Now that I'm here, I need to buy something for my wife and sister-in-law. I'll buy a few more large round ribs weighing more than two kilograms, and a few red sausages too.
There are even beautiful plastic hairpins here. Maybe it’s because he didn’t have a partner at the time. Anyway, he hadn’t seen this thing in Sijiu City. He bought one for each of his wife and sister-in-law. The color and style must be the same, and then Buy two or three more just in case.
After buying all these things, Han Li found that he had almost no tickets left in his hand. This situation made him frown, but thinking about the meat in the space that he had decomposed, Han Li put his heart back in his stomach.
Han Li looked at his watch after walking out of Qiulin Company. Majiagou Children's Park was too far away and he couldn't go there this time.
Han Li thought about the remaining time and decided to take a look at the flood control memorial tower, one of the most famous landmarks in Bingcheng.
Walking along Central Street, he looked at the bread-shaped stone carved from square granite on the road surface. Because its shape and size were the same as the small bread of the old Russians, and its surface was as delicate and shiny as bread, people called it bread stone.
Legend has it that when this street was built, a piece of such bread stone was worth a silver dollar, and at that time a silver dollar was enough for the living expenses of ordinary people for a month.
And Central Street is a full kilometer long, which can be said to be paved with silver money.
The flood control memorial tower was built in 1958 to commemorate the victory of the people of Bingcheng over the devastating flood in 1957.
The base of the memorial tower is made of granite, and the front of the base of the tower is engraved with thirteen golden characters "Bingcheng People's Flood Control Victory Memorial Tower".
The two-layer pool under the base of the tower, the lower layer indicates an altitude of 119.72 meters, which was the highest water level when the flood flooded Bingcheng in 1932.
The upper level indicates an altitude of 120.30 meters, which is the highest water level when the people of Bingcheng defeated the devastating flood in 1957.
The top of the tower is a round sculpture composed of workers, peasants, soldiers and intellectuals. The middle of the tower is carved with scenes of the flood control and embankment construction army from swearing to go up the embankment, transporting soil and tamping, rescue struggle to victory celebration.
The back of the tower is a Roman circular colonnade composed of 20 gorgeously decorated Corinthian columns, which are 7 meters high as a whole.
After visiting the flood control tower, Han Li did not have time to appreciate the current river surface carefully and started to rush to the railway station.
On the way, Han Li recalled everything he saw in Bingcheng today, thinking that it was worthy of being a city that almost became the capital.
Although it is winter now, there are more trees on both sides of the street than in the old city, which shows the concept of beautifying the city.
Cars, tractors, horse-drawn carriages, and bicycles shuttled in this city, and the streets were very prosperous.
Various buildings of different styles can be seen everywhere, including some very gorgeous Russian and Baroque buildings.
There are also many unique traditional elements of our country, such as bats, which symbolize blessings, pomegranates, which symbolize many children and grandchildren, golden toads, which symbolize wealth, and peonies, which symbolize wealth and prosperity. Many of them are presented on these buildings, although many of them have been damaged.
Putting aside the history, this is a treasure formed by the intersection of Chinese and Western cultures.
This city is known internationally as the "Oriental Moscow" and "Little Paris of the East", and some people say that it is a European child left by God on the eastern continent of the earth.
However, all this needs to put aside the heavy burden of history. Thinking of this, Han Li laughed at himself and quickened his pace.
When Han Li came to the place where he had agreed with Village Chief Zhao at the train station, he found that he was leisurely smoking a pipe in the sunshine behind the wind.
"Village chief."
"Have you finished the tour?"
"It's too late to finish the tour, and I've been on the bus most of the way. But village chief, when we come back, can I stay here for two days to have a good look?"
"Let's talk about it later. Anyway, I'm an old man and I'm not interested in this place. It would be nice to sit on the kang and drink a glass of wine."
Han Li squatted beside Village Chief Zhao. The two chatted with each other until the time was almost right. The two of them carried their bags into the station to wait for the train.
When the train came, Han Li realized that this was not a small train at all. Looking at the long row of carriages, it was clearly a cargo carriage.
"Village chief, are we going to take this to get there?"
"We can only take this to get there now. It's much more comfortable than taking a carriage, and it's not far away. We can get there before dark."
Han Li followed Village Chief Zhao and climbed into the carriage. There were some unknown slag scattered in the corner of the carriage. After the door was closed, it was dark inside, but the situation would be much better after the eyes adapted.
Anyway, there were only two of them in the carriage, so Han Li simply closed his eyes after squatting on the side.
As the train whistle sounded, the train started rolling on the rails with a clang, clang sound.
In the dark environment, Village Chief Zhao lit his pipe again, and then he began to give Han Li his final instructions.
Because the environment was very dark now, Han Li couldn't even nod, so he could only keep echoing and talking.
The train stopped after running for more than two hours, and the carriage door was opened by someone.
