Chapter 363 Execution Ground

After arriving at the back mountain, Li Qi saw a square soon.

That was not a Buddha sculpture, but an execution ground.

In the execution ground, there were hundreds of demons and evil people, all suppressed.

Some demons were hooked by iron hooks, which pierced their upper and lower jaws, and their mouths were forcibly pulled open, and red-hot iron balls were placed in their mouths, burning their lips and tongues.

When they were put in, only a hissing sound was heard, but their lips and tongues were rotten, and their throats were blocked, so they could not make a single groan, but could only hum with their noses, suffering from bitterness and pain, but could not make a cry.

Some demons were pierced by iron spikes. The iron spikes were very thin, like hair, so they were pierced very deeply and very much, and could be said to be thorough inside and outside. From the outside, the whole person seemed to be covered with silver-white hair all over his body, including his eyeballs and mouth.

Others were evil people who were bitten by jackals, tigers and leopards, bitten, chewed and chewed, and their flesh fell and injured their bones, their skin and flesh rotted, pus and blood flowed out, and they wailed constantly.

Li Qi, who was passing by, frowned and asked the wolf demon in front of him: "This behavior... Isn't this the compassionate Buddhism?"

Who knew that the wolf demon said as a matter of course: "It is precisely because of compassion that we have to punish them. With the Buddha's light, it is just a little corporal punishment. Compared with the sins they committed in the past, what is it?"

As he said, he pointed at a naked evil man wearing iron clothes.

That was a human, a low-grade practitioner, who looked like a ghost witch.

The punishment he received was to wear iron clothes.

This was not an ordinary iron clothes, but a set of restraint clothes made of iron chains. The iron chains were burned by real fire, red and bright as lanterns.

The burning iron clothes covered the body, burning the skin and flesh, scorching the bones and boiling the marrow, bitter and sour, the pain was immeasurable, and the wailing resounded through the sky, and the scalp of the listener was numb.

"This man kidnapped young children and used the innate energy of his newborn life to practice. He killed seventeen people and was caught by the monks of Fengde Temple and was suppressed here."

"This kind of people often eat human brains, so they can endure the torture. You see, although he is in pain, he is far from dying."

The wolf demon said: "The people who are punished here all have reasons. The one who was punished by needles over there is sexually lewd and poisonous. He gathered a crowd to brand his wife and flogged her naked, leaving her body with wounds."

"The one who was punished by knife hacking dug up the graves of a clan, stole twenty-four coffins, destroyed his ancestral tombs, took bricks and tiles and sold them, angered the ghosts, and the whole clan was angry, so he was tied up and sent to the temple."

The wolf demon pointed and told Li Qi about the deeds of various people who were punished.

The wolf demon clasped his hands together and said devoutly: "The monks of Fengde Temple are compassionate. They use corporal punishment to stop evil, and then use Buddhist teachings to influence people, and finally turn evil into good. This is called the right way."

Li Qi looked at the group of people being punished, and then looked at the headband on the wolf demon's head, and asked boldly: "So... the Dharma protectors are also like this?"

"Everyone here, except those masters, is like this." The wolf demon said seriously.

"The sea of suffering is boundless, and turning back is the shore. Although putting down the butcher knife cannot make you a Buddha, it can also make people feel more at ease. Compared with corporal punishment, being entangled in evil thoughts and being unable to extricate yourself all day long, isn't it more painful?"

"After such an experience, you can be enlightened. It is really our good fortune. I don't know how many people in the world are entangled in evil thoughts in their hearts, sinking into the sea of suffering and unable to get rid of it. We have masters to save us and teach us Buddhist teachings. What else can we be dissatisfied with?" The wolf demon said in a steady tone.

As he spoke, he had already walked through the back mountain and passed those people being punished.

Li Qi just hummed a few times perfunctorily, and then fell into deep thought.

Is Buddhism... such a virtue?

He just passed by those places, and there was no taboo. He could see that many people were passing by and watching. In other words, anyone could come to that square. Although it was protected by magic and could not reach the execution ground, everyone could watch.

In fact, Li Qi also observed that many people, who seemed to be the victims' families, were looking at the monsters inside with hatred but pleasure.

Was it wrong?

Li Qi thought it was okay. Although there was no life for life, such a terrible punishment was enough to satisfy most people, at least they would not feel unfair.

In fact, it is estimated that many people would think that it would be better to die than to suffer such punishment, which would be more pleasant, so most of the victims' families had no objection.

The repentance afterwards was also done very well. Whether it was forced or sincere repentance, these monsters would definitely not go out to do those things again. They all converted to Buddhism and became the guardians of Fengde Temple.

This is also the only problem.

In Fengde Temple, there are only a few more great monks, but there are hundreds more Dharma protectors.

There are those who are not in the rank, those who are in the rank of 9, and even a few who are in the rank of 8. As for those who are above the rank of 7, I haven't seen them yet.

With such a force, not counting those monks, these Dharma protectors alone are enough to fight on equal terms with the local big forces in Ezhou, and not lose the upper hand.

Unknowingly, the power of Fengde Temple has expanded to this extent.

Its reputation spread far and wide throughout the country, secretly affecting millions of people, and the area within a hundred miles has completely become private property, and there are hundreds of loyal thugs.

Even Li Qi couldn't help but sigh that this Buddhist temple is really something.

At first glance, it seems to have done a lot of good things, and in fact, it has done a lot of good things, and it does not ask for rewards or rewards, and even lets the pilgrims bring their own incense, but unknowingly, it has become a big force in the surrounding area.

I don't know whether it is good or bad.

After walking another seven or eight miles, it has been far away from the previous building complex and has completely come to the deep mountains.

However, the number of practitioners passing by did not decrease, but increased. Many of them were led by the Fengde Temple guardians. Obviously, they all went to see the Buddha statue.

Li Qi did not continue to talk, but followed honestly. After a while, he finally arrived at the Buddha statue.

However, as soon as he arrived, Li Qi frowned and uttered a strange low cry: "Huh?"

He saw a Buddha statue, but it was not the kind of Buddha statue that Li Qi imagined was very delicately carved, but... something like the immortal pointing the way, immortal peach, lion fighting for the ball, stone shoes, etc. that were hung with a sign in the scenic spot.

It was just a piece of stone, and then everyone imagined it and came up with some weird names. Anyway, it didn't look like it.

According to this logic, those weird and broken stones that couldn't be named could be given names.

Li Qi had no such interest, so in his opinion, a stone was just a stone, and it was useless to imagine so much. The so-called Buddha sculpture in front of him, Li Qi looked at it and didn't even have a human figure, it was just a piece of broken stone that could be picked up by looking down.

"This is the Buddha sculpture that has been rumored recently. Are you satisfied?" The wolf demon asked Li Qi.

Li Qi did not answer, but looked around.

There were many people around looking at the Buddha sculpture.

Some people frowned like Li Qi, and it was obvious from their expressions that they all thought they were fooled.

It was ridiculous, just a broken stone!

Some people seemed to feel that they were dull, so they studied it seriously, sat cross-legged in front of the stone sculpture, analyzed it carefully, and carefully pondered it, trying to discover the secrets in it.

Others sat directly and chanted Buddhist scriptures, as if they felt that there was a mystery in the stone, but the mystery could not be detected by looking closely, but to chant the Buddha devoutly, appreciate the sincerity, and naturally get the Dharma in the Buddha sculpture.

Of course, there are still some people who sneered, just looked at it a few more times, and then thought it was just a lie, and then turned around and left.

Li Qi originally wanted to be one of those people who turned around and left.

But he thought about it, this Buddha sculpture should be really magical, otherwise the little monk he saw, his clairvoyance, could it be fake?

It can't be fake, Li Qi believes in his own vision, unless there is a powerful person to arrange himself, otherwise he will never be wrong about such a thing.

If there is a powerful person to arrange himself, then there is no way to escape, it is better to go through a road, you can always find a way.

It may be arranged by the other party, but at that time, the elders of the sect should come forward.

Besides, there are not many powerful people who are so unsophisticated.

Today you arrange my disciples, then I will also set up a plan to arrange your disciples. After a while, all the younger generations will die, then there is still a fart, there must be rules under the table, so it won't be so chaotic.

So, he also sat down and looked at the Buddha sculpture.

However, the more I looked at it, the more I felt that this broken stone really had some Buddha-like meaning.

At this time, the wolf demon beside him suddenly said to Li Qi: "Did you see some clues?"

"It seems... a little bit like it, but I guess it's just my imagination." Li Qi shook his head.

"It's not my imagination, but my heart." The wolf demon suddenly said.

"What do you mean?" Li Qi asked back. He could tell that the wolf demon had something else in his words.

Hearing this, the wolf demon squatted down beside Li Qi and said devoutly: "Buddha means enlightenment. Self-enlightenment and enlightenment of others, and the perfection of enlightenment is called Buddha. If everyone has enlightenment in their hearts, then everyone has Buddha in their hearts. If you say that clay sculptures and wooden sculptures are called Buddhas, then they are the Buddhas of fools and fools."

"When you worship one Buddha, you should visualize worshipping countless Buddhas. When you worship the present Buddha, you should visualize worshipping the past and future Buddhas, so that there are as many Tathagatas as dust particles in the ten directions and three times."

"Worshiping Buddha is not worshipping sculptures, but worshipping the Buddha in your heart. If you have Buddha in your heart, isn't this stone a Buddha sculpture?"

"Think of yourself as the Buddha who can save people from suffering in the world, and Buddha is the enlightened one. All sentient beings who are enlightened are enlightened. Go to the Buddha, bow your head to the ground, and sincerely take refuge in the Buddha Dharma. If you look at it this way, isn't this Buddha sculpture magical?"

The wolf demon said this to Li Qi, and he blinked his eyes as he spoke.

Li Qi laughed dumbly.

These sharp words actually hit him?

He shook his head and did not refute. After all, this is Buddhism, and there is no need to refute others.

Because what the other party said sounds reasonable, but in fact, isn't it nonsense? If you can become a Buddha after enlightenment, then what are those real Buddhas of the first and second grades?

However, Li Qi did not resist this statement.

Because he knew that this statement was not entirely false.

Enlightenment does not necessarily lead to Buddhahood, but those who become Buddhas must be enlightened.

The word enlightenment is simple to say, but in fact it is as difficult as ascending to heaven. Perhaps the mystery is indeed in it, just like Li Qi himself.

The practice of witchcraft does not seek external things, but only seeks the heart. As long as you can understand many details of many great ways, then you can naturally use other resources to fill your own cultivation.

As long as the foundation of the Tao is solid and steady, cultivation is just a grinding work and pure hard work for the witch.

Therefore, this statement actually coincides with the practice method of witchcraft, and there is a certain degree of similarity.

However, what the Wu Dao wants to realize is not self-awareness, but the understanding of the outside world, including numerology, physics, natural relationships, ecological balance, and even various metaphysics. Each of them takes a lot of time to learn and study, and it is necessary to be in harmony with the outside world at any time, and use one's own human body to gradually fit the outside world, and finally reach the level of complete consistency between the inside and the outside, and one person is the heavens and the world.

But although the Buddhist saying also emphasizes enlightenment, Li Qi can't figure out what it is to be enlightened, and this wolf demon probably can't explain it clearly.

The Buddhists shouted enlightenment, enlightenment, what is enlightenment? Who can tell a rule? Say a goal? What do you have to realize to be enlightened?

This is why Li Qi sneered at Buddhism.

The Wu Dao wants you to realize, and there is a clear goal, that is, this outside world.

But what does Buddhism want you to realize? Play a trick?

Shame on you.

Of course, this is Li Qi's opinion. For those who practice Buddhism, I am afraid that Li Qi will be laughed at.

Li Qi is also aware of this.

Everyone has different ways and views. Otherwise, how can there be such a saying as "If you have different ways, you can't work together"?

Only those who share the same ideals can talk to each other.

However, Li Qi also began to try to think from another's perspective.

He looked at the Buddha statue and fell into deep thought.

Since the two methods are similar, both require the establishment of a prototype of the way in the mind, and then use this prototype to observe the Buddha statue in front of you, perhaps you can gain something.

If you want the magical powers of Buddhism, but you have to do it in the way of witchcraft, then it will naturally not work. You still have to look at it from the perspective of Buddhism, so that you may be able to draw inferences and gain insights.

Li Qi constructed this "awakening" of Buddhism in his mind, trying to simulate the real Buddha statue.

According to the Buddhist scriptures that Li Qi has read, there must be thirty-two characteristics, which is also the basis for constructing Buddha statues.

The so-called thirty-two characteristics are those very obvious features of the Buddha's appearance, including the thousand-spoke wheel, slender fingers, high and good nose, wide and long and thin tongue, etc., a total of thirty-two features.

The Buddha's thirty-two characteristics make him superior to all noble people, and can make all those who see the Buddha feel respect.

Li Qi carefully observed the Buddha sculpture that was formed naturally.

Suddenly, he stood up, left the wolf demon, and approached the Buddha sculpture.

The Buddha sculpture was a strange stone, with an ordinary tree growing next to it, standing next to the trunk and pressing down on the roots.

Li Qi looked at the cross section of the tree and carefully counted the annual rings on it.

One, two, three...

After counting for a while, he found that the annual rings of this tree were exactly one thousand.

This is the thousand-spoke wheel among the thirty-two characteristics, which means that there are one thousand round wheels on the soles of the Buddha's feet.

And this tree happened to be pressed down by the strange stone.
