Chapter 7 7 Research
Chapter 7 7. Research
"Just sit anywhere you like. Today's research is just for some basic external data."
Rafael followed Fisher into the previous room again. He took out a paper manuscript from the table while explaining.
External data?
Rafael folded his hands uneasily, and the door behind him closed automatically. Suddenly, the whole room became quiet.
This human always said some words that people couldn't understand, such as research and data, which were words with unknown meanings in Dragon Language. Most of them were replaced by similar words by Fisher. If he couldn't find them, he would directly transliterate them in Nari language.
"Don't stand there, sit on the chair behind you."
"."
Rafael sat on the wooden chair behind her without saying a word. Then, the man in front of her touched the black long strips standing around, and the transparent cover actually emitted a light, which scared her.
If it wasn't magic, was there some insect or stone glowing? Or was it the subhuman souls he collected that were glowing?
She had heard her mother say before that the souls of dragons were burning, so they would emit light, and every year they would guide the lost dragons in the wild back to their hometowns, but she had never seen it, so she didn't know if it was true.
She didn't know that the light gathered on her body just allowed Fisher to better observe the research object.
He put on a monocle that emitted a little light. This was a special magical item that could see the flow of magic in creatures. Some sub-humans' physical characteristics would change as the magic flowed in their bodies. I wonder if the dragons were the same.
It was rare to study the dragon race directly in the Western Continent, and he ran all over the Southern Continent to find this red dragon race. According to other dragons, dragons of this color were very rare. If this was not the so-called "Red Dragon Queen", he could only admit defeat.
"From now on, don't move."
He pulled over the small mobile table next to the desk, on which were some tools that Rafael didn't recognize. But seeing the iron object shining under the light, she suspected that it might be some kind of strange torture instrument.
Is this research?
She gritted her teeth.
Fisher had just taken out the measuring tape when she saw her eyes closed, ready to die. He was slightly stunned, but his expression remained unchanged, and he just started to do his own thing.
The first thing to do was to measure some of her basic data.
Such as height, weight, tail length and age, etc.
"You are afraid of guns."
Feeling something cold suddenly covering her legs, her eyelids trembled slightly. But the man's calm, as if conclusive statement made her open her eyes again.
"If you are shot through the body by that thing, you will look like a caterpillar."
"Caterpillar?" The measuring tape was slightly pulled apart, reflecting Fisher's serious face, "Good description."
"."
Rafael gritted her teeth, and the claws in her hands were clenched. She wanted to tear the annoying human in front of her into pieces.
The dragon man's scales were not all over his body, but they also covered a large part. For example, there seemed to be no scales from the knees to the lower abdomen, but she was wearing linen clothes now, so Fisher was not sure.
When will you assassinate me?
If you fail, you can study it further.
Fisher looked down at the scales on her calf, where a small part of the round scales, which were slightly lighter in color than other parts, attracted his attention.
He gently reached out and pinched her calf. He could feel the warm scales and the shape of the calf muscles. The scales of dragon people were not painful and felt very comfortable to touch, except for a few armor-like scales that played a protective role after adulthood.
"Hmm"
Rafael took a breath unnaturally, and the claw of his right foot that was pinched also curled up slightly.
"Very beautiful scales. You were shot here, and the scales here are newly grown."
"Hehe, if there were no nasty guns, those humans would not only fail to catch me, but all of them would die..."
She licked her lips, and her green eyes were full of animality, as if she wanted to devour people. In order to catch her, humans dispatched more than a dozen slave hunters with guns, and she killed three-quarters of them, so she received "special care" after she was caught.
She still remembered how those humans beat her, how they pulled her scales off with pliers, and how they cut her skin with blades.
Raphael's pupils shrank into a vertical line again. As long as she killed the human in front of her, she could go back. She wanted to take revenge on humans and make them pay for everything they had done.
Her murderous aura was too obvious, and the scales in Fisher's hand began to stand up. Every time Raphael was emotional, these scales would stand up to express her feelings. I don't know what the steam is, I'll study it later.
He gently smoothed the standing scales with his hands, then turned sideways to take the silver knife on the table. Seeing him pick up the weapon, Raphael roared like a dragon again. Fisher felt the temperature in his hand suddenly rise, just like grabbing a hot kettle, so he let go.
"Roar!"
Facing her scary threat, Fisher was sitting up to her, his face unchanged.
"It will hurt here and other places that are hit at night, right?"
Rafael's pupils slightly spread out a short distance.
"After you were hit, the shrapnel was simply removed. They don't know how to treat the wounds of subhumans. I'm afraid that the one who treated your wounds would not be a serious doctor. This left hidden injuries on your right leg and left hand. Rain, activity, and scale movement will all touch the damaged muscles below, so it will hurt, right?"
"You failed to attack me before because your body was not coordinated. Your right leg couldn't keep up with your left leg, and your left hand couldn't keep up with your right hand. Your movements were too slow, and I caught the flaw. You are injured, and without my treatment, you can't succeed in assassinating."
While Rafael was distracted, he gently used a silver knife to pick up the lighter scales, and saw that the skin underneath was dark purple, which was completely different from the white skin next to it.
"This is none of your business. I will kill you! Peel off your skin and smear your blood on this land. You will die in the most painful way. I mean what I say!"
Rafael's scales stood up again, but no steam came out again, so Fisher reached out and held her right leg again. With a mocking smile, he held up the silver knife.
"Can you do it, Xiaolong?"
The silver knife cut into the rotten muscles from the side. Except for the right leg that was tightly grasped by Fisher, she arched her body in pain, as if she had returned to the day when the bullet hit her body, but this time the pain was even worse, as if it had penetrated into her bone marrow.
God knows what the slave traders had coated the bullets with to make these subhumans with stronger physical fitness than humans fall to the ground and lose their fighting ability. The muscles inside were almost rotten to the bones.
"Bang, bang, bang!"
The silver knife trembled slightly, and Rafael's tail slapped the ground frantically, but Fisher's left hand was like a pair of pliers that prevented her right leg from moving at all.
"Kill you!"
"I'm going to kill you!"
"Kill. You."
"Woo"
From the right leg to the left hand, as the treatment deepened and as time went by, the murderous threat slowly brought some crying. Drops of blood fell to the ground along her body, and then hot steam came out, causing Fisher to look away painfully.
His floor
Fortunately, the treatment was finally completed. Fisher picked up the gauze and medicine and wrapped them around her calf layer by layer.
In fact, the time was not long. There was not even the sound of the subhumans coming back from outside, but this kind of pain was torture for one more second, especially without anesthesia.
". There will be a chance, if you can grasp it."
This was a response to her remarks that she wanted to kill herself.
Fisher looked at Rafael, who was slumped in the chair, and continued to measure the rest of the body data with a tape measure, ignoring her murderous eyes at this moment.
"The subhuman body recovers quickly, and it will be healed soon. I look forward to your assassination. The research tonight is over, and you can go back."
He stood up, threw the bloody silver knife on the plate next to him, washed his hands with clean water, and turned off the lights next to him.
Although the lights disappeared, the colorful afterimages still remained in Rafael's eyes, along with the back of the man, imprinted in her mind.
"Kill...you..."
"Yeah, come on, Miss Long."
I'm cute, please vote for me.
