The Pacifist Necromancer of Hogwarts

Short Story No. 5

Written at the beginning: The difference between a short story and a special story is that the special story is the same story line as the main story, but a bedtime short story is more like an "irresponsible short play", and the timeline may not be consistent with the main line of this article.

In short, the bedtime short story is really hastily compiled on a temporary leave, and has no direct relationship with the outline, and the timeline will jump around everywhere... and because it is a bedtime story, I really try to make the short story end with sleep or night as much as possible!

Snape walked through the corridor without making a sound.

This is his third night patrol this week. Pomona seemed to have heard about his night patrol frequency, and today she asked him with some concern whether he had boiled the water of life and death, but Snape could swear that if it were not for Dumbledore's request, he would rather shrink in his cold and dark room in the cellar and suck human blood as those students said-this is just a rhetoric, Pomona-than waste time meaninglessly walking around the castle late at night.

Snape saw several students who were trying to sneak into the kitchen on tiptoe. He narrowed his eyes and identified them. One Ravenclaw, three Gryffindors.

Very good. He strode over.

After deducting five points from each, Snape drove them all back to the dormitory. The students looked at the kitchen portrait regretfully and left hungry.

"If it was Professor Anthony, he wouldn't deduct our points at all..." A Gryffindor complained to his friend in a self-righteous voice.

"Professor Quirrell is the same." His friend said, "The last time I met him, he looked more surprised and scared than me."

Anthony and Quirrell. Snape gloomily recited these two names in his head, the two reasons for his night patrol.

When he complained that Potter - the younger one - was as arrogant and undisciplined as his father, the respected headmaster just calmly told him to pay attention to Quirrell and Anthony, as if they were somehow responsible for Potter's rudeness.

Well, of course, the headmaster was referring to more important things. They need to find out what the Dark Lord is doing now, how much power he has recovered, what plans he has for the Philosopher's Stone... When looking at these issues, the most suspicious ones are the dark wizards who came out of Azkaban (Dumbledore even said the word "necromancer") and the new stutterer who behaved strangely after reappearing.

They certainly wouldn't be stupid enough to pry into the secrets of the Philosopher's Stone during the day - Snape hoped they wouldn't, otherwise old Crabbe would no longer be the stupidest of the Dark Lord's followers, which sounds too frustrating - so someone in the castle must monitor their actions at night.

Filch was of course very happy to help, but Snape thought that instead of relying on a squib to hinder the Dark Lord from stealing the Philosopher's Stone, it would be better to believe that the Potter boy really had some strange power to defeat the Dark Lord and would miraculously point out the real - well, double quotes, bad guys, end of quotes at the last minute. Ah, he almost forgot that Dumbledore did believe it. ("did" is italicized.)

Just then, he heard a very slight noise coming from the corridor on the second floor, almost like the wind blowing a dead leaf. Snape took a look and found that Quirrell's door was open a crack, and after a while, the door closed gently again.

Quirrell, at 2:34 in the morning, went out to - Snape stood at the corner, holding his breath and listening to the sound - a little farther away, at 2:34 in the morning, he went to the stairwell, and then walked upstairs... very suspicious.

Just as he was about to follow, there was a very clear sound of a door opening in the corridor on the second floor. Snape took a few steps back, so that Anthony who came out would not find him. He watched Anthony standing in the corridor with his outer robe on again, and slowly closed the door. If Quirrell ran faster, Snape thought he might have been enjoying the scenery on the fifth floor at this time.

Snape waited for a very long time in a gloomy way, and then saw Anthony take a deep breath and slowly walk to the stairwell.

Anthony, at 2:35 in the morning, went out, at 3:07 in the morning, walked around on the first floor, at 3:20 in the morning, studied armor in the hall, and at 3:46 in the morning, fiddled with the teaching telescope in the astronomy tower.

At four o'clock in the morning, Snape ended his fruitless night patrol, lay down on the bed, and fell asleep.
