Chapter 3 Something More Important
The first time I was taken into a police car, and the first time I was taken to the police station.
Arrived at a sub-bureau, the interrogation began immediately.
It was the first time Yang Yi saw the interrogation room, he was lenient in confessing and strict in resistance. Looking at the two lines of characters on the wall, the two policemen in front of him spoke.
"Tell me, what's going on."
Yang Yi came back to his senses, and then he said helplessly: "I'm still wondering what's going on, but this matter has nothing to do with me. I'm a car-hailing driver. They asked me to drive for me. I came here when I was confused. There is nothing to say. I have a driving recorder in my car. There is evidence of my innocence in it. Anyway, it's unlucky. If you want to beat me, I will admit it."
"Let's not talk about whether you have anything to do with this car theft. Good guy, you dare to drive up to 220 on the Fifth Ring Road. You are brave enough. Do you know how bad this thing is? In broad daylight, you..."
The policeman who was interrogating Yang Yi was talking, but there was a sudden knock on the door of the interrogation room, and then a high-ranking policeman pushed the door open, but didn't go in, and just said to the two interrogating policemen: "You two leave, and the transcript is kept."
The two police officers who were in charge of the interrogation looked a little surprised, but they left the interrogation room as quickly as possible. Then, the door opened again, and this time a middle-aged man in a suit entered.
The middle-aged man who came in looked to be in his fifties, with a very ordinary appearance, without any attractive features. Ordinary can't describe it.
The middle-aged man walked into the interrogation room, looked at Yang Yi, then sat in the interrogator's seat, picked up the transcript and looked at it.
Noticing that the red light in the interrogation room, which signifies that the camera is on, went out, Yang Yi was completely surprised, and he didn't find it strange. He just felt that the moment he had been waiting for for a long time seemed to be coming.
When Yang Yi carefully observed the middle-aged man in the suit, Yang Yi suddenly laughed and said softly: "Don't read the transcript, there is no interrogation at all. Uncle Li, long time no see. I didn't expect to meet you here."
The middle-aged man whom Yang Yi called Uncle Li raised his head in surprise, and then he whispered, "Can you recognize me?"
Yang Yi nodded, and then he said calmly: "Eleven years ago, at night, it was still raining, you went to our house with my father, and he asked me to call you Uncle Li at that time, well, our house rarely has guests, so I still have a deep impression of you."
Uncle Li put down the interrogation record, nodded, and said with emotion: "At that time, you were only a child, but you can still remember my face. Your memory is really good."
"Many people say that. I have a photographic memory, because I can't forget many things that I want to forget, so this talent sometimes bothers me."
"It's hereditary. Your father just has a photographic memory. I have always admired him for this and envied his talent. It seems that you have inherited his talent."
The two fell into a brief silence, and finally Yang Yi spoke first: "What should I call you now?"
"You can call me Li Fan, you can continue to call me Uncle Li, or you can call me Uncle without the word Li."
"Then Li Fan is a pseudonym."
After a moment of silence, Li Fan nodded, but then said, "Don't take it so seriously, just take it as your real name."
Yang Yi raised his handcuffed hands: "Uncle, give this to me, it's really uncomfortable."
"I don't have a key, so just stay here for now. I don't want to trouble others all the time. It's not appropriate for me to come here."
Yang Yi sighed, and then he said seriously: "If you compare the motherland to your mother, then I must be very filial, because this country treats me well, and I have been doing well for so many years after my parents died. Now, you suddenly appear here, which makes me a little confused and makes me suddenly understand a lot of things."
After pausing for a moment, Yang Yi said calmly: "Let me guess, are you here to get me out?"
"No, not exactly."
"Then you came here to tell my parents?"
Li Fan sighed and said with a wry smile, "Don't rush to show how smart you are, it's not good to be too public, not at all, but you guessed it right, I really want to talk to you about your parents."
Yang Yi nodded, and then he said seriously: "I was young when my father passed away. I didn't understand anything at the time, and I didn't think much about it. But when I think about it later, I think he should be a spy, and your performance now confirms my idea, so you are also a spy. So, my parents were sent by the state?"
Li Fan shook his head and said, "You guessed wrong on this point. Your parents are not spies. Strictly speaking, your father is an intelligence dealer, and sometimes he does some political brokerage. I can tell you responsibly that they are not sent by the country. Your father does not belong to any country's intelligence agency. Your father only works for money."
Yang Yi frowned and said: "That's wrong. My father taught me to love my motherland since I was a child. I don't understand. If he is an intelligence dealer and has nothing to do with any country, then wouldn't his education to me be ridiculous."
Li Fan said with a serious face: "Some people, no matter what their nationality is, will never forget that they are Chinese, and your father is such a person!"
After waving his hands, Li Fan said with a serious face: "Don't doubt, and don't think about probing. I can tell you that my relationship and friendship with your father is based on business. Yes, I bought information from your father, but the price is very low. The low price can be regarded as a free gift, and it was twice."
"What information?"
"This is not what you should ask, and I will never tell you."
"Okay, so what department are you in?"
"I said, don't ask if you shouldn't ask."
Yang Yi sighed and said: "Then this is meaningless for you. It can't satisfy my curiosity at all. Well, let me change some questions you can answer. You sent someone to bring me back from England? Are you looking for someone to take care of me after all these years?"
Li Fan nodded, and then he said in a deep voice: "Yes, but I am very guilty, because I can't talk about taking care of you. I just took care of some people to take care of you. Your father has nothing to do with Huaxia, but based on the two pieces of information he gave away for nothing, you deserve all the care you receive, and a large part of your current personal property is the inheritance left by your parents."
Yang Yi nodded and said: "So after my parents died suddenly, an inexplicable uncle came to take me back to China, and then he disappeared, but I had a property left by my mother in Beijing, and then I had a strange aunt to take care of my life, but she disappeared suddenly when I was able to take care of myself. I went to the best elementary school, the best middle school, and the best university. I can figure out what's going on, but now I finally have an accurate answer, so can I ask one more question? How much did you pay for the information you bought from my father?"
"Two million pounds, one million pounds for an intelligence."
"That's very expensive, and you still say it's free?"
"That information is priceless. If you really want to sell it, you can definitely sell it for hundreds of millions of pounds. You don't understand the value of that information."
Yang Yi said with a smile: "In other words, my father's job is very profitable, so I should be very rich. After all, my father should have left a lot of money. Could it be that I am really a rich second generation?"
Li Fan shook his head and said in a low voice: "After your father died, all his property was transferred away. I only found 200,000 pounds in cash at your house, which was kept by your father for emergencies. Except for the cash, I took nothing with me, and I can't take it away at all."
Yang Yi smiled wryly: "Well, I thought I could get a lot of money..."
Li Fan sighed: "So you bought a luxury car with the sudden extra money in your account, and wasted 2.2 million in less than half a year."
Yang Yi said with a frustrated face: "I said it all, I thought that money would continue to be added to my account for no reason. Who knew that it was all the inheritance left by my parents. If I knew it, I wouldn't spend so much."
Li Fan sighed, and then he said helplessly: "I thought you would be eager to ask me how your parents died, but now it seems that you are not interested in the cause of your parents' death?"
"In my dreams, I want to find out how and why they died, but you will definitely say these things, so of course I have to seize the opportunity to ask you things that you may not say, so that I will never have the opportunity to ask you again, just like my uncle and aunt who suddenly disappeared. Frankly speaking, your style of doing things is quite annoying. If you say it disappears, it disappears, or disappears forever."
Li Fan said helplessly: "I can't help it, professional needs, well, I'll tell you whatever you want to know, as long as I can say it."
Yang Yi moved his hands again, and said with a displeased face: "Get this out first, how uncomfortable, don't say you don't have the key, I don't believe you can't open a handcuff, otherwise, I'd be too sorry for your identity as a spy."
Li Fan smiled wryly, tore off a piece of paper from the interrogation book, rolled it up, and then opened the handcuffs casually.
"Okay, just say whatever you want to ask."
Yang Yi touched his wrist, then he sat up straight, and said seriously: "Now tell me why my parents died."
Li Fan said with a serious face: "At that time, I was in charge of the UK. One day your father suddenly called me and told me that he had an extremely important piece of information and he had to meet me for an interview, so I rushed to the appointed place, but I waited for a long time but he did not come to the appointment. By the time I saw him, he was already dead."
"Then he didn't really die in a car accident."
"Of course not. The scene of the car accident was faked. The real cause of your father's death was poisoning. Then almost at the same time, your mother died of a heart attack at home. The real cause of her death was also poisoning. Your home was searched carefully. Although everything seemed normal, it was turned upside down. Someone took what they wanted, and you were still in school so you escaped. Or those people thought you were not a threat and let you go. After all, you were only eleven years old at the time. It would be too conspicuous for a family of three to die at the same time in different places."
Yang Yi was a little confused and said, "You just said that you found 200,000 pounds from my house? Now you say that my house has been searched all over? That's not right."
Li Fan said calmly: "Because money is not what the people who killed your parents want at all. They want to find more important things, such as this address book."
