Mysteries of the Earthsea

Chapter 519 Iron Statue Island

Looking at the introduction of the island book in his hand, Charles knew the origin of the island in front of him.

Iron Elephant Island, an old island explored four hundred years ago.

On the island stands a huge metal humanoid statue whose head almost reaches the upper rock formation. No one knows who built this almost miraculous thing.

Although there seems to be a curse on this island, as long as people on it can't live past the age of 47, the iron specialty of this island is so attractive that no one can refuse.

So the original explorers settled down on it, and began to cut metal from the statue to start selling.

It has been sold for more than 400 years, and only half of the entire huge statue has been cut.

From the construction of most of the steamships in Earthsea to the materials, most of the materials are provided by the two islands of Iron Statue Island and Volcano Island. It can be said that Earthsea's shipbuilding industry has contributed a lot to this huge sculpture.

"Wow~! Mr. Charles, it's more interesting than the long stick-like islands we've seen before! Whose statue do you think this is?"

Lily looked down with curiosity in her eyes, and the tail of the mouse behind her kept wagging.

Charles thought of his previous plan. After he tapped on the window frame for a few seconds, he grabbed Lily and put it on his shoulder, then turned and walked towards the hatch.

"Come on, let's go down and have a look. I hope there are still people in the Explorers' Association on this island."

The menacing Hope Island fleet slowly approached the pier.

When Charles stood in the sun and looked towards the pier, he didn't find anyone. The entire pier was piled up in a mess with various scattered metal pieces, but no one seemed very deserted.

"No way? This iron statue is covered by such a big shadow, so it shouldn't be completely dead like other islands." Charles looked up at the oppressive giant legs in the distance and muttered to himself.

Lily grabbed Charles's clothes with her little paws. "Mr. Charles, shall I send the mice to explore?"

Charles shook his head slowly. "No, it's not about exploring unknown islands. If there is any danger in this kind of living island, it has long been wiped out by the previous islanders."

Under the leadership of the governor of Hope Island, everyone slowly approached the island.

Although Charles did not give an order, under the brigadier general's order, everyone's bullets were loaded to prevent emergencies.

"Captain, someone lived on this island not long ago, and the footprints on the ground were within four days at most. He was wearing leather shoes, male, and he was overweight," Dipper knelt on one knee and analyzed the footprints on the roadside.

"Get up, it's not the judge who brought you here." Charles continued to walk forward.

Under the command of the Commodore General, the navy quickly began to search the entire dock, but the entire dock was searched and there was still no one.

When Charles stepped out of the pier, he saw the banana shoots growing in the field, and he knew that the island had also received shiny seeds.

"What the hell? Where did everyone go?" Charles murmured to himself.

"Mr. Charles, is it time for my mice to go out? They really can!"

Charles stroked his chin and thought for a while, then said, "Forget it, go back, no matter what happened to the people on this island, it's none of our business anyway."

However, just as he was about to leave, a figure walked out from the shadow of the huge iron statue in the distance, and she shouted from a distance: "Is it Governor Charles?"

"Huh? There are still people who know me on this island?" Charles stopped, turned around and waited for his arrival.

Under the watchful eyes of a group of people, the person came to Charles, and when they saw the octopus tattoo on her face, everyone knew her identity.

"Governor Charles, you are finally here. The priests are waiting for you." The old woman said to Charles with a smile in a very polite and friendly tone.

Charles recalled what he had just read in the book, looked up at her and said, "I remember that this island should not be taught by you, Ftan, right? What are you doing here?"

"The population of God's Landing is not enough, so the priest sent us to collect the residents." As soon as the old man finished speaking, thousands of people came here in a long line from under the shadow of the huge iron statue.

Holding the black umbrellas, they looked anxious and looked very scared. Judging from the clothes on their bodies, these people were the islanders who disappeared before.

"It turns out that you are reselling people, why? But sacrifice these people to your mighty one?" There was a hint of understanding in Charles' eyes, and he turned and walked towards his airship.

"No, no, the priest has promulgated new rules prohibiting sacrifices. Compared with death, their more important task is to give birth. As long as menarche comes, every woman must have a child in her belly."

"This is not only for our Fortan religion, but also for the hope of our humanity! No matter who gives birth to a child, we will have rewards."

"Cut." Charles quickened his pace, and waved casually at the neat navy in front of him, "Let's go, keep going."

The Fortan believer quickly walked a few steps to Charles, and said politely again: "Governor Charles, please allow us to lead the way for you. It will be troublesome."

Charles glanced at her, "Okay, hurry up."

Hearing this, the old woman smiled slightly, and as she raised her hands towards the sea, the sea suddenly arched, and several dilapidated sunken ships rose from the bottom of the water.

She began to order her subordinates to push those people towards the sinking ship.

"Mr. Charles, should we help them? They look so pitiful." Lily's ears drooped and stuck to her golden hair.

"Save what, the Ftan Sect will not kill them, they are just replenishing the population."

"But...but..." Seeing their miserable appearance, Lily almost burst into tears.

"It's nothing to worry about. Even if we save them for a while, we won't be able to save them for a lifetime. The Eastern Sea Region was originally the territory of the Fortan Sect. Without the suppression of the Light God Sect, they are now the real masters of this sea area."

"But don't be careful. I still have a debt to settle with them. They won't be in harm's way for a long time, so I'll be ruthless towards them. I will solve this kind of trouble sooner or later."

Charles covered Lily's eyes with his hands and got on the airship.

The huge fleet began to leave the port, and under the leadership of those sunken ships, it began to walk towards the depths of the Eastern Sea.

During the period, one or two shipwrecks were encountered from time to time, and they also quickly converged to guide Charles ahead.

These boats also seem to be transporting islanders. It seems that the Fortan Cult wants to gather all the people from the entire Eastern Sea Region together.

Soon everyone noticed some kind of abnormal phenomenon. As the fleet got deeper and deeper, the rock formations in the sky got closer and closer to the sea surface.
