Chapter 1082 You Protect All Beings, I Protect You [26]
The old abbot was hunched over, wearing a ginger monk robe and a string of Buddhist beads on his chest. His face is old, his eyebrows are white, his eye sockets are deep and deep, and his eyes are cloudy but not clear.
The old abbot looked at the sloppy Yan Fan, and he sighed softly, "I just came here to give you a word."
Yan Fan got up from the chair, didn't ask the old abbot what he said, but said casually: "Since you are old and your legs and feet are bad, please sit down first, and don't ask me to take you back to the Zen room."
Hearing this, the old abbot shook his head, "No."
The old abbot glanced at him, Yan Fan looked at him, and then slowly put away the lazy mischievousness on his face.
Yan Fan saw the old abbot put a page of paper on the table in front of him, the old abbot sighed, turned and left slowly.
Yan Fan didn't look at the piece of paper on the table, but frowned at the old abbot's stumbling steps, and said, "Hey, old monk, let me take you back."
Hearing this, the old abbot stopped, smiled lightly and shook his head, "No need, the old monk's body is not too weak to walk."
The old abbot refused to let Yan Fan send it off, so Yan Fan didn't send it off.
He turned around and picked up the paper book. When he saw the line on the paper book, Yan Fan's body froze.
It seemed that the hoarse and thick voice of the old abbot was heard behind him——
"The attendees are set to leave, and we will pray once in a while."
Yan Fan recited these words silently in his heart, and then smiled coolly with the corners of his mouth pulled.
He let go of his fingertips, and a gust of wind blew over. The paper book was blown away with the wind, blowing farther and farther...
…
Afterwards, the monks of Fanyin Temple were surprised to see Yan Fan in the morning class several times.
He was still lazy, he didn't seem to care about anything, and he yelled "Old Monk" to the old abbot one by one. The uncles next to him were all very angry, saying that senior brother Yan Fan had no rules, but the old abbot was not angry at all, instead he condoned senior brother Yan Fan's shouting.
When everyone closed their eyes and chanted scriptures and Buddha devoutly, Senior Brother Yan Fan was looking around lazily, looking very naughty like that.
Brother Yan Fan often made the senior uncles in the temple jump their feet angrily, especially Senior Daozhen. Every time the young novice monks in the temple could always hear Senior Daozhen scolding Senior Brother Yan Fan.
It is said that Uncle Daozhen caught Senior Brother Yan Fan secretly eating pheasant and drinking, and Uncle Daozhen punished Senior Brother Yan Fan for copying scriptures again.
Brother Yan Fan didn't copy it, but was imprisoned in the Buddhist scripture pavilion by Uncle Daozhen.
Then one day, the young novice monks found a book handed down by the respected elders of the temple in the Tibetan Scripture Pavilion. Chicken Soup for the Soul.
As a result, the little novice monks saw that two words were left on the last page of the book in a frenzied way——

In the end, Uncle Daozhen found out about the matter, and Senior Brother Yan Fan was punished again.

Note: "The meeting will be separated" comes from the Buddhist "Nirvana Sutra". It means that people who often meet in the world will sometimes be separated, and those who meet will eventually be separated.
And "one period one prayer" comes from the variant of "one period one meeting" in Japanese Zen.
The combination of the two sentences means that we must meet everyone as a once-in-a-lifetime fate.
So, cherish every encounter with everyone.
If you miss it, you will never meet again.
