Chapter 384 The Turmoil
Inside Dumbledore's office.
Harry's mood had calmed down a lot, but he still sat on the chair with a nervous expression.
Directly opposite him was Dumbledore, and Sherlock was sitting on a stool against the wall, fiddling with the locket in his hands while listening to Harry talk about his dream.
"...Wormtail and the others all knelt on the ground, and not long after that, a group of people appeared using Apparition. There were so many of them that I couldn't even count them. Among those people, I saw Bug. Man and Karkaroff!”
Dumbledore's face was obviously heavy. He stared at Harry, his royal blue eyes filled with helplessness and anger that Harry had never seen before.
"Can you still picture the layout of the room from your perspective?"
"Sorry, Professor, it's dark in there, and I can't control my perspective. I didn't see what that room looked like."
Dumbledore didn't show much disappointment in front of Harry. He nodded and spoke in relief.
"It's not your fault, Harry. The information you shared with us is very useful. It's already very late. You have to go to class tomorrow, so go back to sleep first."
But Harry did not leave immediately. He looked at Dumbledore hesitantly, and after struggling for a few seconds, he decided to ask what was on his mind.
"Professor, I would like to know why I keep dreaming about what Voldemort is doing?"
Dumbledore's eyes became profound, and Harry's words seemed to stir up his thoughts, but he did not give Harry an accurate answer.
"You are the first person to survive the Death Curse Harry. This is very special because nothing like this has ever happened in history, so I can only guess that it was the Death Curse that Voldemort used on you. Although it failed, there may still be some connection between you and Voldemort himself who cast the spell."
He looked at Harry seriously.
"From now on, it seems that this connection has not had any other impact on you, but no one can guarantee that since you can see the scene on Voldemort's side, Voldemort will discover this and see you."
Hearing Dumbledore's speculation, Harry's body couldn't help but tremble.
Just imagining such a thing was enough to frighten him. If this was really the case, then for Voldemort, his room for maneuver must be larger than theirs.
Seeing the uneasiness on Harry's face, Dumbledore said warmly.
"You don't have to worry too much. It's just a guess right now. I've made some preparations for it. It's precisely because of this that I didn't agree to Minerva's decision to choose you to be the boys' prefect. You This term is going to be very busy, Harry, and it’s time to stop worrying about other things.”
His words calmed Harry down a lot. Before Harry left, Sherlock reached out and shook the locket.
"Leave this thing to me. I should have told you in class before that in the magical world, don't touch anything related to unknown notes, lockets, rings and cups. It seems that that section You didn’t pay attention to the lesson.”
There was some shame on Harry's face. On the way here, he already knew that the locket he took from No. 12 Grimmauld Place was a dark magic item.
Neither Dumbledore nor Sherlock told anyone else about the Horcrux, so the fewer people who knew about it, the better.
"Of course, it's not all your fault. Sirius himself is too big-hearted. He actually gave you something he didn't understand. Fortunately, nothing happened. Go back to sleep."
After Harry left, the expression on Dumbledore's face gradually became quieter.
Guhang
He didn't know what he was thinking in those eyes that were dim under the firelight.
"Is there something wrong with Harry?"
Sherlock could naturally tell that something was wrong. He had been dreaming about Voldemort for more than a day or two. The locket might have had a catalytic effect on his nightmare, but the real problem must have been with Harry himself.
Dumbledore leaned on the back of his office chair, looking a little tired.
"I have some guesses about Harry's question, but this is still just a guess after all. Forgive me for the time being, Sherlock, I can only hide this from you. I still need time to confirm it. Once it is confirmed, I will send all I’ll tell you everything.”
Sherlock certainly had no objection to this. Dumbledore had the right to hide some things, even from himself.
"Let's not talk about this for now. The most important thing is to verify whether Harry's dream is true."
As he spoke, Dumbledore pulled out a piece of parchment from his desk. Just as he was holding the quill and starting to write something on it, a flame suddenly jumped in the fireplace in the principal's office.
The green fire gradually turned into a person's head. Although the skin color could not be seen, Sherlock still recognized Kingsley from his facial features.
"Sir, there is an emergency over in Azkaban."
Kingsley's tone was urgent and he spoke quickly.
"The dementors have surrendered to the Death Eaters, all Scrimgeour's Aurors stationed on the island have been captured, and all the prisoners in the prison have been released!"
Before Dumbledore could write to inquire, Kingsley had already informed them of the situation through Floo powder.
Dumbledore frowned.
"What is Scrimgeour's reaction now?"
"He is gathering all the Aurors in the Ministry, trying to use the Apparition detection magic left by Azkaban to find the place where the Death Eaters have escaped. He has already sent an advance team there."
Dumbledore shook his head and sighed.
"It's too late to do this now. If he had listened to my advice and made preparations earlier, maybe he could have saved it."
"I'm going back to the Ministry to meet with them, sir. Please inform Moody and the others of this news as soon as possible. The Death Eaters under their surveillance will probably take action soon."
"I will."
Kingsley's face disappeared in the fireplace, and Dumbledore stood up from his chair.
"You should go back and rest first, Sherlock. I have to go back to No. 12 Grimmauld Place to gather Moody and the others to discuss some things."
Sherlock also stood up from his chair.
"How about I go with you?"
"You have classes tomorrow, so you'd better go to bed early tonight." Dumbledore put on his outer robes. "I don't have anything important to do there. I just want to tell them to withdraw now. Voldemort's actions will probably become more frequent, and the wizarding world will enter a period of turmoil."
