Just a Defense Against the Dark Arts Professor

Chapter 189: Labyrinth in the Dark

Sherlock walked in the front door, Eddie pulled Amy behind him, and the three of them pushed the door open and walked into the prophecy hall.

"What's wrong with Amy's eyes?"

Sherlock was the first to notice Amy's question. He touched her head and asked with a frown.

Amy rubbed her eyes again.

"Amy got sand in her eyes, but Amy doesn't think it's a big deal."

Her feeling was always correct. After hearing what Amy said, Sherlock did not take this matter to heart anymore, but led them all the way to the depths of the Prophecy Hall.

"I have been here for a while and know that there is a special door in it. It can only be opened on certain days of the week. I once opened it and there was wind inside, probably from the outside!"

As Sherlock said, the three of them ran all the way to the innermost wall of the prophecy hall.

There are three doors here. The one on the far left can be opened at will and contains some broken crystal balls. The one on the right is always locked. The black door in the middle is the room that Sherlock mentioned.

"Today is the day it can be opened?" Eddie asked in a somewhat urgent voice.

Sherlock nodded.

"It's today, as long as it's not past 12 o'clock."

He stretched out his hand and pushed the door open. A fresh cold wind blew out from the door and raised the hair on the foreheads of the three people at the same time.

The continuous explosions behind them were still ringing, and they walked into the dark room together without hesitation.

The black door was closed again, and in the Hall of Time, the vine-like wall created by Sherlock controlling two hundred wands was finally blasted with explosive spells by the Death Eaters.

In the circular black hall, Bella's face was as cold as frost.

Dozens of Death Eaters around her were constantly using explosive spells, and behind them lay four Aurors who had fainted under the Stunning Curse.

In order to prevent Barty's identity from being exposed, they did not kill anyone at the Ministry of Magic tonight.

Aiming at the blasted gap, countless crushing spells once again exerted their effects on the scorched vines.

A minute later, an entrance for people to pass through was destroyed.

At this moment, five Death Eaters walked out of another room in the Department of Mysteries.

"The Ministry of Magic staff who stayed here have been eliminated, but..." the Death Eater said hesitantly, "but Mrs. Selwyn, she is missing."

Bella looked at her sullenly, flexing her fingers lightly in the hand holding the wand.

"Did she disappear in front of you, or did you never find her in the first place?"

"We didn't see her at the beginning. It's like she didn't stay here tonight."

Now that the location of the room is known, the director of the Department of Mysteries is not that important. It doesn't matter whether he can be caught or not.

"First complete the task assigned by the master."

Bella walked in the front, and the other Death Eaters filed in after her.

Rabastan and several Death Eaters consciously separated from the large army and tried to open all the rooms they could enter to find the whereabouts of Sherlock and the others.

The remaining people passed through the Hall of Time. Bella opened the door of the Prophecy Hall with a clear purpose and led the Death Eaters into the room filled with crystal balls.

The villains violently pushed several rows of wooden frames blocking the road to the ground. The crystal balls on them fell to the ground, and there was a sound of "cracking" glass shattering.

They kept walking in without stopping at all until they came to the wall with three doors.

Following the scene she saw in Mrs. Selwyn's memory, Bella stared at the black door that Sherlock walked in with Eddie and Amy, and reached out to push it open!

It was pitch black behind the door, and nothing could be seen.

The Death Eaters who searched for Sherlock's whereabouts in the Hall of Time also returned without success again.

"No one was found."

"Ignore them, let's go in."

Under her leadership, the Death Eaters each used the wand lighting charm, and then walked into the room with the cold wind.

...

"Amy is a little sleepy."

Amy, who was held in Eddie's arms, leaned on her father's shoulder and murmured to herself.

From the very beginning when she said she had sand in her eyes, it was obvious that something was wrong with Amy.

Sherlock asked with a frown.

"What was just blown into Amy's eyes?"

Eddie recalled.

"It's the sand in that hourglass, the biggest one against the wall."

Suddenly Sherlock's brows furrowed even more tightly.

"The thing in there is definitely not sand! We have to get out as soon as possible, otherwise Amy may be in trouble too!"

They had been walking in this dark room for more than ten minutes, but they still had not reached the end.

This room is very abnormal, the darkness is like magic, squeezing out various light sources.

Sherlock spread out a dozen wands and used the lighting spell together. The visibility was less than one meter, and he couldn't see the road ahead clearly no matter how far away he was.

The cold wind was blowing around them, and the room seemed to be separated by countless small grids. It was like a maze that made people twist and turn inside, unable to find a way out.

Sherlock also tried to use magic spells to destroy those grids, but none of them succeeded.

Soon they came to a fork in the road, with two roads ahead for them to choose from.

"Which way?" Eddie asked.

This was Sherlock's first time here, but one of them seemed to have a cheat in terms of choice and luck.

Sherlock asked softly to Amy, who was leaning on Eddie's shoulder, closing her eyes and looking dazed.

"Do you think we should go left or right, Amy?"

Amy seemed to be very sleepy, but she still had some weak consciousness and murmured.

"Amy... think we should go left..."

With her answer, Sherlock and Eddie did not hesitate and continued to walk to the left. All the intersections they encountered later were chosen by Amy and kept moving forward.

They continued to walk forward for about half an hour, and after turning a corner, they saw a faint light.

Eddie and Sherlock held their breath at the same time and looked at each other.

Someone!

The wizard holding the magic wand lighting spell also saw them. Sherlock's side was much brighter, so it was easy to see their faces.

"John!"

A familiar female voice sounded, and then the witch approached them with her wand raised.

It was only then that Sherlock saw the witch's face clearly, and it turned out to be Mrs. Selwyn!

"Why are you here?" Sherlock asked in confusion.

Mrs. Selwyn was pale, panting rapidly, and looked panicked.

"There is a door in my office that leads directly to here." She looked at Sherlock with a guilty look on her face, "I shouldn't have wronged you, John, that door was not opened by you. Someone else must have sneaked in that night, he peeked at my memory, and then gave it to the Death Eaters!"

Sherlock was naturally in no mood to care about those things now. Hearing Mrs. Selwyn's words, his heart sank.

"Can this room lead out of the Department of Mysteries or the Ministry of Magic?"

"No, this room is a place to hide things, and some of the most important things in the Department of Mysteries are hidden here."

Hearing her say this, Sherlock's face completely darkened.

They went to the wrong place!

Not only is this not the way out of the Ministry of Magic, it is also likely to be the ultimate goal of the Death Eaters!

The further they go inside, the more they are trapped.

Eddie is not stupid, he also heard this meaning.

"What should we do now?"

They have already come here, and it is impossible to return the same way. Even if they are lucky enough not to encounter the Death Eaters on the way, it will be past twelve o'clock when they arrive at the door, and the door cannot be opened at all!

Sherlock did not hesitate for long, and gritted his teeth and said.

"Then we can only continue to walk inside, and we must find the room they are looking for faster than the Death Eaters!"

He turned his head and looked at Mrs. Selwyn.

"Do you know where the room they are looking for is?"

Mrs. Selwyn said with a pale face and nodded.

"I got back some of my memories before entering this maze. I also know the room the Dark Lord is looking for, but I haven't got the memory of the thing inside."

Her tone was solemn, and even her voice was trembling slightly.

"But what I know is that we must not let them get that thing, otherwise the most terrible consequences will happen!"

"You lead the way, we have to go there as quickly as possible, and we must get there before the Death Eaters arrive!"

With Mrs. Selwyn leading the way, their actions will undoubtedly be much faster.

But they can also clearly hear the messy footsteps coming from behind.

The Death Eaters are not far away from them, but because of the darkness that absorbs light, they can't see each other.

After walking forward for another twenty minutes, they finally came to a space like a hall.

When Sherlock and his friends stepped here, the chandeliers on the ceiling lit up one by one, driving away the darkness that had been shrouding the maze.

There are two doors in front of them, one black and one white. Mrs. Selwyn pointed to the black door on the left and said.

"The room they are looking for is behind this door!"

Sherlock tried to push the black door open, but the door was as if it was welded to the surrounding walls and did not move at all.

"Can you open it?"

Mrs. Selwyn stretched out her wand, her palms were full of sweat.

"I need time."

"How long will it take?"

"At least 10 minutes!"

Sherlock sighed and turned back the hundreds of wands around him. The footsteps coming from the darkness became louder and louder.

"I will try my best to buy you this time."

Eddie put down the already asleep Amy and said with a firm look.

"I'll go with you!"
